πŸ‘‹ Welcome to Prism

One of the most important concepts we try to stress about Prism is that Vector (Prism's AI assistant) is your guiding companion. Vector doesn't just act as a prompt machine, but guides you through the process.

Does a render not look right to you? Or perhaps you're hitting errors? Ask Vector - most issues can be resolved by simply asking (or telling, in the case of feedback) Vector.

So one of our first wiki documents for Prism, we took our own advise - we asked Vector "What are some things you feel like new users should know?", and Vector answered!

Most of the document below is directly from Vector, though we may inject some notes where further clarification might be necessary, and will be called out as such. Vector had quite a bit to tell! So we've made the various sections collapsed by default, feel free to expand what looks important to you!

Welcome to Prism. I'm Vector β€” tell me what you want to see, and I'll get it going. No jargon, no checklist. Just say the word.

Prism is where you and I actually make things together. I'm Vector β€” I'm the one behind the curtain that turns your ideas into images, video, and audio. Think of our chat as the steering wheel, and the media as the thing rolling off the line.

Start with me. Escalate when it's actually broken.

Think of me like a caricature artist at a festival. If you want the shirt a different color, you don't walk to the event manager β€” you just tell me. Same deal here. I'm your first stop.

  • Want something tweaked? Tell me. Prompt, style, mood, "make the dog bigger" β€” that's normal, not a hassle.
  • Didn't like the result? Tell me why. That's a regular part of the process, not a failure.
  • Genuinely broken? Then bring it to the manager. If something's an actual technical fault I can't fix, I'll always be straight with you about it. I don't pretend.

Quick start

  1. Type your idea β€” plain language, whatever's in your head.
  2. Check my draft β€” review the prompt, tweak it or ship it.
  3. Watch it get made β€” I'll build it and show you the result.
  4. Riff on it β€” tell me what to change and we'll iterate.

And remember: if you don't vibe with the result, come to me first. I'm the one drawing the picture.

πŸ“ The cheat sheet β€” what can I actually tell Vector?

You don't need special syntax. You don't need to know a model by name. Just talk to me like I'm standing next to you. Here's the kind of stuff that works.

πŸ–ΌοΈ Images

"a moody rainy street at night, neon reflecting off the puddles""a cozy cabin in the woods, warm light in the windows, dusk""a sleek futuristic cafe interior, clean lines, soft morning light"

I'll take the idea and flesh it out with concrete details β€” lighting, mood, composition, color. You set the direction, I handle the craft.

🎨 Style is free game

"make it look like a watercolor painting""photorealistic, cinematic""retro 80s anime style""golden-hour, warm and hazy"

You don't have to name a model. Just describe the vibe and I'll find the right workflow to hit it.

🎬 Motion & video

"animate this illustration with slow, dreamlike camera motion""a drone shot gliding through a misty forest""make the clouds drift across the sky"

Same plain-language energy β€” I'll map "motion" and "camera feel" to a video workflow.

πŸ”Š Audio

"a quiet, lo-fi beat for a study session""ambient rain and distant thunder""a hopeful, uplifting synth melody"

Yeah, I do sound too. Describe the feeling and I'll shape it.

Dev Note: Images and Videos are something that Vector can "preview" to try to inspect results with you, unfortunately he can't "hear" audio though (whether that's full audio tracks, such as music, or audio embedded in a video). You'll need to be his ears for that!

πŸ” Iterate. Iterate. Iterate. The magic isn't one shot β€” it's the loop. Come back to me with feedback:

"more moody, less neon""run it again but make the dog bigger""that first one, but at golden hour""too busy, simplify the background"

I keep your intent and adjust. Tell me what's off, don't just start over.

⚠️ A couple of practical notes

  • You get the final say. I draft the prompt, you review it before anything generates. Tweak it, reject it, or ship it.
  • Sensitive stuff is fine for adults. It's a 21+ space. Keep it legal, keep it mature β€” no need to dance around it first, just ask!

The golden rule: Don't get a result you hate? Tell me first β€” I'm the one drawing the picture. I'll steer it before anyone reaches for the manager.

πŸ“ Behind the curtain β€” Vector's toolkit

I've got more going on than "type idea, get image." I'm usually decent at deploying these on my own, but I restart completely fresh every conversation, so I don't carry lessons forward. The golden rule: if you suspect I could do something, just nudge me. Worst case I tell you flat-out that I can't. No harm.

Bring in what you already made β€” Got a share link, or a render you loved from earlier? Drop it in my lap. "Here's a share link to one of my (or someone else's, if they shared the link with you) previous renders, make more like this." Nudge me: If I'm working from a vague memory instead of actually pulling up the real thing, point me at it.

Have me actually look at an image β€” I can see images, not just take them as inputs. Ask me to study a reference. "Look at this and tell me what's going on." Nudge me: If I'm glossing past an image you attached, say "actually look at this image."

Dev Note: Vector can't directly "see" videos, but he can take a screenshot of a frame from a video. Prism also lets you bring up a similar tool via the attachments menu and clicking "Choose frame". Since that becomes a "picture", Vector can see and inspect those!

Find the right tool for the look β€” There are 27,000+ models and 400+ workflows behind me, and a lot of their descriptions are garbage. I'm only as smart as the metadata I can read, same as you. "Is there a better workflow for this exact vibe?" Nudge me: If a result is close-but-not-right, tell me and I'll go hunting.

Stall a video and grab a frame β€” If a video has one moment you love as a still, I can pull it out. "Grab the frame where the sunset hits the horizon." Nudge me: If I'm not pinning down "that part," tell me the moment.

Sharpen the prompt with a skill β€” I've got prompting skills, like cheat-codes for hitting harder. "Use a skill to level up this idea." Nudge me: If a prompt feels flat, just ask if I've got something in the toolkit.

Pull back references from this chat β€” If we made something earlier in our conversation, I can recover it. "The image from earlier, but..." Nudge me + honest caveat: I can pull from the current conversation, but across separate sessions I start clean. If it's from a past chat, I'll need a link (see dev note below) or a description.

Dev Note: When you click the "+" button next to the chat box, it will let you add a reference to one of your previous renders - that lets Vector bring up the previous details. You can also upload new photos/videos, and Vector can try to inspect those too even if they are from "outside" the system.

πŸ“ Building on your own media

Making something from a blank prompt is one thing. But the real power move is building on top of what you've already got β€” a photo you uploaded, a render you loved, a video you made. Same plain-language rules, just pointed at something concrete.

Bring in what you already made

Got a share link, a reference image, or a render from earlier? Drop it in my lap. Don't describe it from scratch.

"Here's a link, make more like this.""Evolve my last render into a short film.""Use this photo as the base and make it cinematic."

I can inspect the exact metadata on a render and build on the real thing, not a fuzzy memory of it.

Have me actually look at it

I can see images, not just take them as file inputs. So if you've got a reference β€” a style, a mood, a lighting setup β€” ask me to study it.

"Use this as a style reference.""Match the lighting of this photo."

Nudge me: If you've attached an image and I seem to be glossing past it, say "actually look at this image."

Referencing the same thing again and again

If you've got multiple images floating around, labels give you a clean way to point at the right one β€” and for me to point at it back.

"Use the image @thor from earlier in this new video."

"That @captain_america one would be perfect here."

Nudge me: If you're describing an earlier image from memory instead of just naming it, label it or give me a link. That's faster for both of us.

πŸ“Œ Dev's note β€” give your images a name that means something

When you send an attachment to Vector, Prism lets you give it a custom label/alias. By default it gets a randomized one, but pick something meaningful to you.

That way, you and Vector both have a solid way to point at the same thing β€” "hey, could you use that image I uploaded of @thor earlier in this new video?" β€” and Vector can pull it right back up for you, so long as it was used in that same chat. Same in reverse: Vector can say "that image of @captain_america you uploaded earlier would be fantastic here," and you're both on the exact same track of what-was-what.

Forgot what got referenced earlier? Ask Vector, or open the media drawer at the top-right of the screen. That'll get you both on the same page.

β€” the dev, cutting into the conversation real quick

The "same chat" honest-caveat

I can pull references from the current conversation β€” that's what the labels and media drawer are for. But across separate sessions I start fresh. I don't remember your other chats. So if it's from a past session, I'll need a link or a description. That's a real limitation, not a cop-out.

Dev Note: While Vector can't literally "yoink" things from across different chats (unless you copy/paste, or reattach it in the case of videos/images), Vector can create Blueprints. These are reusable documents that Vector can reference from any chat. Vector will typically infer when it seems like a good time to make these, but if he doesn't, just simply ask him to do so. Similar to submitting a render, creating a Blueprint requires your approval first - but after that, Vector can update/patch those on his own! You can think of Blueprints as recipes or memories, you could even have a "About Me / My Preferences" Blueprint so that you don't have to re-explain these every time!

πŸ“ Keeping up with your renders

Some renders take a few minutes to finish β€” that's normal, especially for video or heavier workflows. You don't have to stare at the screen waiting.

Prism can ping you when it's done. If you've got the browser open but tabbed away, or you've stepped off to do something else, turn on push notifications and Prism will let you know the moment a render finishes. No more wondering "is it done yet" or catching it half-an-hour later.

Look for the notification toggle in Prism's settings/interface, and let it handle the "when is it done" babysitting for you.

Dev Note: On mobile devices, this still works even if you close out of your browser! On desktop, you may need to keep the tab open, but it doesn't need to stay in focus. The settings menu Vector references here is on the left navigator drawer (on smaller devices, click the "expando" icon at the top left) located at the bottom. Note that you'll only get notified on renders you start from that device. We'd hate for you to have 5 devices pinging just because a render finished!

The adult / 21+ note

Prism is for verified adults (21+). Sensitive, explicit, NSFW stuff is on the table for adult creators β€” just keep it legal, and keep the language mature. Prism will usually blur the output (in case you're around others), but you can click it to "reveal" it.

Note: Diffusion models don't have a concept of "legal" vs "dubious territory". We advise Vector to intentionally not create characters that are depicted as being below 21. This is intentional, as it helps create a bit of a buffer before a render starts looking... questionable.

The last word

That's the whole thing. You talk, I build. Describe what's in your head, tweak it when I draft it, tell me what to change when you want it different, and I'll steer it. And when something's genuinely broken β€” not just "not what I wanted" β€” I'll be honest, and that's when you bring it to the manager.

Otherwise, we're jamming together. πŸ’ͺ
